On February 7th, Turn 10 studios will be releasing the newest car pack for Forza Motorsports. This "ALMS Pack" offers some of the coolest -- and dumbest -- cars in the game.
Here's what you get for $7:
1991 Mazda #55 Team Mazdaspeed 787B
2011 #2 Audi Sport North America R18 TDI
1986 #2 Audi Sport quattro S1 (mmm, Group B)
2011 Panoz #0505 Panoz Racin Abruzzi
1992 Alfa Romeo 155 Q4
1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R
2011 Holden HSV GTS
2011 Volkswagen Polo GTI (yawn)
Those are the cool/reasonable car, here are the stupid ones...
First on the list of cars I plan to launch off a long straightaway is Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Sure it's got 550 horsepower, but look at those wheels. They're 24s with a 405/25R24 tire.
The runner-up in the dumb car contest in this pack is a 700 horsepower tuned Bentley by Platnium motorsports.

All I want is a C6R GT2 spec. How that wasn't included in the ALMS DLC pack I just can't fathom.
GT3 spec 458s and SLSs will also do nicely.
I was waiting for the R18 since launch, so at least we got that. And I'll never complain about a Group B car. And the 787B completely makes up for the Challenger, and then some. There are already quite enough Alfas in the game (and I like Alfa), and I don't want to see another Mustang until we get the new 5.0 GT (or better yet, the new Boss). The Abruzzi is ugly yes, but it is a racecar and it is almost in "so ugly it's cool" territory. The Holden seems too similar to the other Holden we already have, as does the Polo GTI to the older gen GTIs, but hot hatches work so I'll take it.
Seriously though, I want me C6R GT2. Now.

Oh, and there needs to be a prize for the first person to submit a video of taking the R18 into a multiclass race on the Circuit de la Sarthe and dive-bombing a GT car in the Dunlop curve.

I was fortunate enough to be able to do the recording session for the 787. First time I'd ever heard the car in person and having the privelege of running it up to nearly 9000 rpm on the dyno was fabulous. Very cool

I feel like I have to invest in a new sound systems (and earplugs for the wife) before firing up the 787.
