Lexus was very clear about things when they revealed the new GS late last year: This was the new face of Lexus.
The hourglass / double-L / spindle look has now been grafted onto the 2013 Lexus RX. A leaked brochure of the Japanese Market 2012 Lexus RX shows the facelift in all of its glory. Beyond the new grille, the 2013 Lexus RX (when it hits our shores) will have LED DRLs.
The New RX also get a new F Sport version for the 350 and the 450h Hybrid. The 450h AWD also gets optional air suspension.
Look for more on this one as soon as New York.

This is by far the most successful implementation of their spindle grill. Nice design. Aggressive but not tacky like on the GS.
Not much new in the way of powertrains... hybrid V6, regular V6, and the I4 which America probably isn't getting.

Nice!
Definitely an upgrade over the current grille
Not luvin' the F-Sport, but appreciate the effort!

F sport for the rx? Bad move there. Lexus needs to keep F sport respectable and limit it to RWD sports sedans. I guess the ES will get the treatment next. The RX isnt sporty and never will be- its insulting to even add this treatment to a 4400lb FWD crossover.

Looks much better on a softroader. The current Rx looks too soft.

Not as revolting as GS.

Huh. It's a bit origami for my taste, but I suppose it looks as good as the Acura MDX. Can't read Japanese, but guessing that "F Sport" is mainly just appearance mods, any sort of actual performance thing would be called "RX-F", and probably not gonna happen.

Ugh cant stand this spindle double L design. To me its just trying to hard design should look and feel effortless. Its like a bad photoshop job where some kid is trying to cram to things together to make it look cool. I will admit however that this is the best implementation of said design they at least tried to flush it out with the car instead of letting it look like a wacky body kit.

...is this how Lexus tries to attract the "rice racer" kiddies towards their models? LOLz! It looks as bad as Audi's desperate screams of "look! our cars are MODERN!!!!111" in form of over-done LED headlights...

A huge improvement over the current design theme of the RX. Menacing and modern.
And the F-sport makes the X3 with its sports activity package look bland in comparison.

I'm waiting (cringing) how they implement this on the next ES350. I'm not getting behind this identity. When has luxury = aggressive? Lemme guess...Jaguar right?

Pretty nice piggy.
This couldn't have come soon enough.
The current RX has the ugliest snout, it's trumps the Aztec.
Now it looks like a proper warthog with tusks!

+1, windsor5
Good execution - maybe. Hard to call a grille that can be tacked on during a midcycle refresh a "design language"

It sounds like people were so underwhelmed with the existing design that they will take any change. It doesnt look terrible, doesnt look great. The RX still looks bloated and conservative. And the F sport model is answering a question no one asked. A sporty RX is an oxymoron and makes as much sense as a V series model for the Escalade.
