Video: Nissan Z Driver Screws Up Driving Straight

 Nissan Z crash.jpg

Ever want to know what Lamborghini drivers do before they're rich enough to buy Lamborghinis? This. This is what they do.

Note: New tires + rain + supercharger + itchy right foot = this.

Can someone name the car the poor guy next to him was driving?

That didn't even look like power oversteer there. I've had high hp cars step out on me in a straight line at speed, but they don't just snap.

The tires fizz up, it starts to move sideways, but there's some warning. And given that the Nissan FM platform is pretty stable, I'm wondering if there wasn't something else wrong here as well (I realize what the video caption states, just saying). I've driven 500-600 whp boosted Z's and they just don't do that.

Yes... the source link identified it as a 350Z roadster.

That just looked like a lane change without looking or a serious case of road rage.

he could not pass him on the right, he decided to take him out?

It looks like a bad mis-shift. 5-2 instead of 5-4?

I hope the people in the convertible are ok. You don't get to see where the car goes... did it slide into oncoming traffic?

That said, it's obvious that these two were attempting to race. There are laws against street racing for a reason.

Yeah, that didn't look like the rear end going sideways, it doesn't move, it's the front that moves first. Could have been sime kind of torque vectoring issue, like the left rear spinning while an LSD keeps power to the right, maybe. Probably just an idiot driver.

"it's the front that moves first. "

yep. Musta got an urgent text message :)

And anyone wonder why the car behind them was videoing them just driving down the road? It's like those old Americas Funniest Home videos where the camera would be on the guy just sitting there and then a door would fall on him. Like people just tape other people sitting and watching TV.

It is really just supposed to be a coincidence that they were taping the 2 cars in front of them with a hand held camera?

The car that veered was a 350Z. The guy he hit was a Solstice/Sky.

Did a better job of driving straight after the crash than before the crash.

"The guy he hit was a Solstice/Sky."

I initially thought that as well but it's not. It's easier to see if you enlarge the video to full screen.

They are both Zs, for sure.

@zimtheinvader: My guess is that they were already involved in some shenanigans and they thought they might want to take some video in case something cool happened.

csubowtie says:

^^^ That's my guess. Probably the local "350Z gang" were going to do some street racing for StreetFire.

i used to have a g35 coupe which is based on the 350z. not to excuse the idiocy of the driver on the right but its an extremely unstable car. i had a few accidents with the g35 and since then have been driving german cars. its a night/day difference
