Like it or not, the Iceman is back.
Kimi Raikkonen hasn't been in an F1 car since 2009 but just threw down 171 laps durig a two-day practice session at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. Raikkonen was driving the 2010 Renault R30. "Having not driven a Formula 1 car for two years and obviously with a new team, there is a lot to get used to. I'm happy because I was pretty quick to get back in the groove," Kimmi said. "It was great to be driving an F1 car again and from that respect I feel very positive."
The team tested both low-fuel qualifying laps and a full-tank 27 lap session. Tough work, right?

Considering the cornering forces applied to the head and neck, kinda yeah. Also, Formula 1 is so cutthroat I have to imagine the idea of one slip potentially ending your career, or even driving perfectly but losing your seat to someone with richer sponsors regardless of skill has to take a lot of the joy out of it.

Kimi will do fine with whatever material the Lotus/Renault team gives him. His racing results will be completely dependent upon the abilities of the car. Kimi's abilities are at the highest level of the sport, and if the car can deliver, he certainly will.

I'm loving the 'John Player' paint scheme.
