Rally America Sno* Drift to Be Live-Streamed

 Ford snow drift rally.jpg

The worst part about being a rally fan in the U.S.? Trying to explain to people that no, they're not trucks but that yes, they do race in the dirt or trying to find it anywhere on U.S. TV?

Certainly the former, but nobody can help you there. Rally America, however, has a solution for the latter; they will be live-streaming the Sno* Drift Rally live on Friday January 27th. The event will be hosted on www.rally-america.com and will feature not just stage racing, but driver interviews, results and analysis. 70 cars are entered for the event which takes place in northern Michigan.

We've got a couple of weeks until the event, until then, there are Sno* Drift highlights after the jump.

I'll be there, I've been working the 100 acre wood in missouri for 6 years or so, worked Sno*Drift for the first time last year. I'll probably just be spectating on friday night depending when I can get out of work, but will be marshalling a couple stages on saturday.

We haven't had too much snow this year though, might be a very different race than in years past.

FWIW WRC is on Velocity (formerly Discover HD Theater) but multi-week broadcast delay isn't so great.

ESPN carried some Rallycross last year, also time delayed.

Not going to be able to make it there this year, but go if you can because they always need volunteers and it's a great rally race to spectate. Hopefully drunken snowmobile riders don't ruin things again.
