McLaren Beverly Hills Grand Opening

McLarenBH_01.jpg

Last night the doors to McLaren's Beverly Hills dealership opened to a gala event. While we're pretty sure that most of the 750 American-bound examples of the MP4-12C are spoken for (there are 2,000 slated for worldwide production), the night provided a good opportunity for McLaren to firmly establish itself in what will likely be one of its most lucrative markets.

Formerly a Lamborghini/Lotus dealer, the minimalist space was packed with an assortment of wealthy one-percenters. Notable guests included Jay Leno (his McLaren F1 was nowhere to be seen), Patrick Dempsey and Ron Dennis, the head of McLaren. Also in attendance was one of Kimi Raikkonen's Formula One cars and a M8FP 72-09 Can-Am racer.

While we can't envision a steady stream of clients waiting to get into the showroom, it's admittedly inspiring to see the McLaren badge emblazoned on the side of a building.

Welcome to Beverly Hills, where women seemingly fall from the sky.

Very cool

Not car related but honestly Mr. Leno, with as much money as you make can't you buy a suit that fits and a shirt that buttons? I'm just sayin'...

It looks like Leno has had a few before this picture. Good on him. He doesn't need to impress anyone there.

I'm pleased that Jay Leno has such a great interest in mechanical engineering; how many other people in the media do?

Agreed, Leno is awesome. I love how everything he eats, breaths, lives is car related....a lot like us on this message board.

Would it be rude to say I'd rather have the Can-Am car?
