Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld Battle for the First NSX in Acura's Super Bowl Ad

leno seinfeld acura super bowl.jpg
Noted ultra-rich car guys Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld vie for the first Acura NSX in Acura's first Super Bowl ad, "Transactions."

A few million bucks (plus whatever these two charged Acura) to promote a car that won't exist for two years? Bold.

I must say I really like that commercial, its pretty funny! Love the Newman Reference and Soup Nazi, thats awesome! Great idea, Although I do agree its bold to advertise a car years before it may come to production. Guess its never to early to advertise your future Halo and take some attention off of the current Halo Piece of Crap RL, That thing is ancient and no one buys them, can't say Im surprised.

Too bad he couldn't find some way to work in "release the hounds"!
I think that when you put a deposit down for the NSX, they give you a RL.

The commercial is funny, but I have to wonder why Leno would agree to look so ridiculous?
He has car cred.

@explorerx4: Leno is, above all else, a comedian. Anything for a laugh. And remember: "Jerry, you are NOT a comedian!"

I don't like it.

The first minute was so bad, I turned it off before I realized there's a second minute.......

correction... Leno is, above all else, a car guy. he chose comedy to get rich and famous, so he can get cars. not just rich where he can buy any car that is for sale... no... famous to where he can get cars others cannot... and sometimes for free.

Strangely, in my office of ~25 guys, 2 of them have new RLs, within the last year or so. For the life of me, I can't understand why...

Okay, cute commercial, but it's stupid for the japanese to advertise a car they haven't made. First rule of selling, "sell what you have." There is no ROI here.

Wise up. Make Money.

Great commercial.
Make the car available in 6 months please.

Umm... Spoiler alert, anyone?

Part of the entertainment value of the ad is Leno showing up in the last ten seconds. Thanks for removing any element of surprise.

Don't force me to ruin Sixth Sense or Murder on the Orient Express for you...

i like the commerical a lot but i think its a little sad of honda to advertise a concept car. it speaks to their current range of vehicles (see the CR-V ferris bueller spot)

I see nothing wrong with Acura marketing a "concept" as other than a few tweaks, the car will show up just as it is in the commercial. Cheverolet markets their preproduction cars (we heard and saw the Camaro long before it was available, among other cars) so why is it wrong for Acura to take a different path to marketing the brand and creating interest?

As for the commercial itself, I found it entertaining and kind of funny.

Yeah, I liked it . And I especially the looks of the re-born NSX. Definitely pretty cool.
