This is officially the best for sale video I've ever seen
The owner of this Cobra is tearing down the front straight of Willow Springs at about 130 mph (it's a very fast track) when, suddenly, something goes wrong. Instead of stopping when he felt the "what was that" moment he pressed on. Then, seconds later, catastrophe. The Cobra hooks right, goes off track and then starts to roll. For about 500 feet.
And then, a couple of minutes later, the driver grabs the GoPro off the hood and grins at it.
Now the $14,000 drivetrain is for sale: 426 stroked Windsor with a Tremec 5-speed and race gears that may have spent some time upside down. Video after the jump.

That is one of the scariest wrecks I've seen in years. That Cobra replica is not exactly crash-worthy. Watching the slo-mo video and seeing his arms flail about during the roll, I can't believe he escaped relatively unharmed. Amazing.

Was that a pearl necklace floating around in the debris? Also, that little loop roll bar seems a bit inadequate for track days. I'd be rockin' a full cage if I was driving an open top car like that. Yikes.

So I can echo the sentiment that this guy is really lucky. But what caused the car to veer to the right? Did he lose a tire at 130mph?

Saw this yesterday via ALMS' facebook. The vintage style rollbars on those things look cool but I'd be wanting a bit more after seeing that. I still can't believe he was OK. I did appreciate the humor in using it as an ad to sell the surviving stuff.
@greenpony: according to the captioning something broke in the front steering or suspension. Given the resulting damage, you'd need some serious forensic skills to determine more detail than that.

I hope he was wearing a diaper under there.

That guy was very lucky. The roll bar didn't have any scratches on it so it never hit upside down.
I'm calling it Chevy's revenge. Look at the plate 'Heart' SS or ZZ BTIE (bowtie).
