2012 Detroit Auto Show Video: Honda Accord Coupe Concept

Accord_DetAutoShow.jpg

Honda showed off its Accord Coupe Concept, which is likely an indication of how the ninth-generation Accord sedan will look when it's unveiled at the New York Auto Show later this year. With sharper styling and the addition of a CVT and plug-in hybrid variant, this new Accord should be a brisk seller when it hits showrooms this fall.

Alistair dishes the details after the jump.

Camera in a side view mirror? probably $750 to replace the unit.

Not too bad, but still have to say Ford will only increase their lead over the Accord with the new Fusion. Surprised he liked it so much...some reviewers have called it boring.

RIP honda. Who builds a concept car that is 80% the current production car? Is there no excitement left in this company? Oh right the NSX, like that will ever happen.

In case it hasn't been noted yet, Alistair looks like Clarkson and Hammond's lovechild.

i shouldn't like this because it looks SO similar to the old one, but i like it. it looks good like the way older hondas used to. still, it's too safe and conservative to fend off that new fusion/mondeo. the availability of the plug-in hybrid is promising; hope it'll be good, for honda's sake

Since it looks so much like the current Accord Coupe, which has no resemblance to the 4-door, this new coupe doesn't give us any clues as to what the sedan will look like.

At least it will still come with a stick. And, we can only hope that the 2 hp drop from 190 hp means they may have dropped the peak power much below the current 7K.

Honda at least seems to be getting back to their engineering roots. Wherever his spirit is Soichiro Honda must be resting a little easier. They are the Honda Motor Company afterall.

reminds me of the 1995 accord coupe stylings. I like it.
