The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder is out on the floor of COBO Hall in Detroit this morning and it looks far different from the SUV we know as the Pathfinder.
First impression? It's gone the crossover route, at least in terms of styling. No more boxy, pseudo-SUV shape, this is pure people mover. Looks closer to an overgrown Rogue, which is no bad thing. Nissan is calling it a concept for now, but don't expect much to change when it goes on sale later this year.

Definitely Nissan's version of the Infiniti JX. I hope Ford does a better job differentiating the MKZ from the Fusion.

Not impressed. Just an Explorer wannabe. Was hoping for Grand Cherokee-like off road capability, but sadly that's not gonna happen. Another great name bites the dust. :(

The heavy pathfinder was never a great offroader to begin with. Why try to attract such a small segment of hardcore offroading market who are most likely going to purchase the Wrangler, Land Rover LR3/4 /Range Rover or the Grand Cherokee? Since Ranges drop so much in value, anyone who was dead serious about owning a top notch luxury offroading SUV was buying used Range Rovers in the first place. Smart move on Nissan's part to move into the more mainstream market and try to sell 5x as many Pathfinders.

I think Nissan just out-Explorer'd the Explorer. Nicely done.

Just like the Explorer no longer deserves the Explorer name, this no longer deserves the Pathfinder name. Boo!!!!

Like MDX, Explorer good as front side, but back side is ugly. Hope Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon next style are no more boxy. Boxy style is very very ugly like old old junk car.

Disappointing that it went the crossover route, it looks like every other crossover out there.
