$1.2 Million Year of the Dragon 2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom is Sold Out

Featuring a hand-painted gold dragon on each side, custom dragon embroidery and hand-stitched rear pillows, the 2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Year of the Dragon Edition is big in China. How big? Despite a $1.2m price tag, the special edition is already sold out. Rolls-Royce did not reveal how many they had actually built.

In related custom-Phantom news, RR claims that deliveries of customized Phantoms to the Middle East jumped from 75 percent in 2005 to a whopping 99 percent in 2011 while U.S. sales of custom phantoms were only 84 percent. Only 56% of all Ghosts are personalized. I would wait for a personalized Phantom, but for a fancy 7-series? Nah.

Sold Out?!? How could I buy one, I am just finding out about this now. This is so much cooler than my "Year Of The Rooster" Toyota Sienna.

Every time I see a modern Rolls it seems like I am looking at a bad Malaysian knock off.

I know some people like them, but I think the modern Rolls is just hideous. If I was given one (and wanted to have a 3 ton luxury car) I would drive straight to the nearest Bentley dealer and trade it in. Off course what I would really do is drive to the nearest Porsche dealer and leave with a 911 Turbo and cash in my pocket.

"This is so much cooler than my "Year Of The Rooster" Toyota Sienna."

In the best James May tradition; What the Chinese translation for "Oh cock?"
