Video: Will The Scion FR-S Drift?

 drifint the FR-S.jpg

Yes...with some work. And a lot of handbrake. In the rain. And with pro drifter Ken Gushi behind the wheel.

Second video-- interior mostly-- added.

yes but in a true act of class warfare let's see a comparison between this and a Toyota Yaris with McDonalds trays under the front wheels.

This car reminds me of the 240SX, though apparently it's not as good a drifter.

@afty Dude when was the last time you saw a stock 240sx do that? ken gushi is almost in a constant drift at the end of that video.

I think I pointed this out in an earlier post. for formula d they will probably put an engine swap or some really big turbos to get this to drift with the big boys. I mean come on a professional drifter struggled to drift this on wet pavement let alone dry. my buddy though on a side note has a 240sx he has been working on over the years for drifting looks pretty good doimg it now;)

I'm confused. Previous posts (and kinda MM) read like he is having a very difficult time getting that tail out. Now, I'm no pro' drift driver / Formula D or whatever. But, to me at least, he looks (and sounds) like he's not having any trouble and is having a hell of a time; with the giggling and all. Yes. It's raining.

I can feign the tail out on my Accord in a dry "parking lot", it's not drifting, but it's fun; so maybe he's just having a blast despite the implied effort. And, I'm wrong, and it's hard to drift a new BRZ/Scion/GT.

Still looks like a lot of fun.

Also, forgot to ask in my post, is that the "VDC" light flashing in the second vid'? Is it turned on? Enlighten me.

The engine note sounds fantastic. Looks like a great track car.

hey who said he is strugling to drift? he doesn't even have to do the scandi flick. He said the weight transfer is good enough to set the car into a drfit, and it's neutrel handling keep it sliding. Using e-break is just standard practice in show drift these days to keep the side way when slow down for a long straight and transition between two corners with a shollow angle. For a car doesn't set up for drift, it's just pretty darn good for drift, even considered he is a pro drifter.
