Following the engine revamp in 2011, it looks like the Ford F-150 is due for a styling update for 2013. As it stands the truck isn't exactly old, it got a full redesign in 2009.
The new look we're seeing here has a less blocky front end with smaller slats that appear to be trimmed in chrome. Sort of like the Accord Crosstour. Currently, the Harley Davidson edition and the XLT offer similarly slatted grille designs indicating that this is either going range-wide, or that we're looking at an XLT.
Beyond that, camo over the headlights shows that they're working on the Tetris-block look of the current lights.
A slightly tweaked Ford SVT Raptor was also caught...
Like the F-150, the F-150 SVT Raptor gears its headlights hidden and some fun masking over the grille, but they forgot to mask the new 6.2L logo. Suckers! Besides the new headlight work and new grill (Are we getting rid of the giant FORD logo?), there are dashes of masking tape on the fender and just behind the rear wheel that are roughly the size of a side marker light. ![]()

I think that script on the upper left fender of the grey truck reads 'Ecoboost I-4'.
Just kidding.

I think your eyes are deceiving you...or the camo actually did its job.
If you look closer, it looks like the XLT is getting a grill more like the super duty...so it will be BOLDER. Defintiely two big horizontal bars with the brackets on the outside...

They need to get rid of the garish taillights. The chrome trimmed ricer boy style clear things just don't look good. That and the actual body is still from 2004. It might have had a "full" redesign in 2009, but the cab section and doors and even the bed (aside from the taillights) are carry overs from the "redesign" in 2004.

The raptor is getting more rock crawling capabilities and better on road suspension tuning.
I have sources.

Don't know if you're being serious or sarcastic... online, people's "sources" most often turn out to pull double duty as their ass.

The Raptor has had the 6.2L badge since the 2011 model, as for off road ability in the Raptor they got the Torsen front diff for 2012 for better rock crawling.

@_feloniousmonk, I work for one OEM, I have friends in all of them. From what I've heard, it's more programming to have better capabilities at low speed maneuvers in addition to it's awesomeness as a pre-runner. Also, just better on road handling, if you've driven one it's rather floaty with a lot of roll until you start loading it up.

@lostboyz
Since you are in the know, any idea if the Raptor will be getting HID's, I ordered a '12 but may wait till 2013 if they are.

That I have no idea, but I can ask. For any car that is getting a heavy refresh these days, to not have HIDs or at least projector bulbs would be pretty strange.
Ford generally doesn't hold onto its release info as long as some others. So I would say after detroit auto show or as late as NY auto show you will probably have the full specs of the 13 anyway. Trucks have been traditionally early releases in the model year anyway.

Thanks, I don't know of any other pickups that have HID's and wondered if they can offer them due to the height of the vehicle. I know Toyota doesn't offer them in the Land Cruiser (per a car magazine) due to the height of the headlights.

I'm also "in the know" and do know that the F-150 will have a projector design as an option. However, I do not know if it will be available on the Raptor.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies, I may just get it this year and not wait.

if you look at the xlt grill it looks like its the same as on the ford flex with the 2 bars colored the same as the truck except with the ford logo should look nice instead of all that chrome
