At least that's what this camouflaged four-door looks like. Actually, it just looks like a big giant sedan, but look closely at the interior and it's clear that this is a Chevrolet. And a Chevrolet sedan this big is mostly likely the next Impala, no?

why does the second pic not have a white exterior like the other two?
muhann4d says:

The interior belongs to another car, Ford if I was right. Also the paint is black as @msechea pointed out.

If that interior does indeed belong to the new Impala then Hyundai Azera better watch out! Also, wouldn't an upscale Impala kind of eat into Buick LaCrosse's market share?
dscain says:

I agree that the interior is from a different car, but it has to be a Chevy. The hood over the instruments and the way the chrome trim wraps under the instruments, down and across the center stack, then back up and across the other side is extremely consistent with all the newer Chevrolets. I'm sure interested in seeing what's under the camo!

There were 6-7 cars in this test group. Some were painted black, some were painted white.

WOAH!!! Where did this come from? I was starting to think that the current Impala was going to last another 10 years!:/ Nice interior!!! Does anyone know anything about what the powertrain will be. I'm guessing the 3.6l will be under the hood but will it have an AWD option? Probably too early to tell.

Clearly it's GM corporate switchgear, the stalks are a giveaway. (Some people fail to accept reality).
If this is the new Impala...kudos to GM for the interior. Looks extremely nice.

+1. The G8 was a great car burdened by a dead brand. There is no reason a Chevy version couldn't do better and take the fight to the Charger.

I liked the Holden sedans too. The G8 was a great looking and performing car. These prototypes look very good even in camo. Sad to know they won't be rear wheel drive. If GM does this new model right, perhaps I'll put my money down on one.

You can see the BOW TIE tapped off on the steering wheel people stop saying it's a Ford. I think it looks VERY promising. especially the interior. 90% of the car buying public does not care if it's FWD or RWD as long as it looks great and has a really nice looking interior. I agree a RWD Impala would be epic but all we can hope for is a SS modal or limited run of the Caprice if they change the boring look of the cop version. I really have hope for the next Impala now no longer a Avis special Keep it up Gm!

The interior indeed looks upscaled, we'll have to wait to see if Chevy managed to match the exterior to the nice interior.

I actually think it is a Chevrolet Impala. The indicator stalks and the needles in the gague cluster give it away. The indicator stalks are the same as those on the Cruze, and the needles look oddly similar. Little parts bins things like that give it away.
jscion says:

It looks really nice inside. The exterior looks like a giant Malibu. The problem with rear-wheel drive is that it absolutely sucks in icy weather. Chevrolet has a HUGE market in the north so a RWD Impala would certainly irritate an audience used to being able to get a reasonably priced, large sedan which I think the Impala does very well at. Making consumers fork out $30K+ for AWD to get around the RWD configuation wouldn't sit well. The Impala is a niche vehicle to a select few only in my opinion!

Two things I don't want to see in this thing:
1. That ugly Chevrolet Grill
2. FWD/AWD
Sadly, I'm sensing that both of these things will be in it. It's gonna be Long-wheelbase Malibu.

If this is a rebadge modern G8 than you have my attention, if not. I'm not interested.
I get that some may think this may eat into Buick sales, but remember that Buick is intro Luxary and is geared toward Lexus buyers, while Chevy is for 9-5er's that want bang for the buck. The G8 was that and the G8 GT is still a fantastic car, if you can find a pre-owned one. I only know one person that has an 08 G8 GT and he swears he will never part with it.

Could it be that Chevy heard my pleas to bring back the best taillamp treatment ever from the gorgeous 1965 Impala? Look at those protruding red bullets coming through the camo! I think this could be the Impala rebirth to its glory days.

Afraid the interior shot is of a GM product guys. There's non way it's a Ford. Otherwise the center stack would littered with MyTouch buttons (er, touch thingys) and not actual twistable knobs and buttons.
It looks great though. Kind a good balance between the overexaggerated Buick interiors and the slick Cadillac designs of late.
