"On the whole, the 2012 Honda CR-V's cabin is undoubtedly an improvement over last year...For the moment, the 2012 Honda CR-V is one of the best four-cylinder models in the compact SUV class. With this redesign, Honda has addressed its middling fuel economy and noticeable road noise while preserving the packaging owners like and the level of quality they expect." - 2012 Honda CR-V Full Test and Video
But at what cost? Not as much as you'd expect, actually. Only $181 more per vehicle on average.
The 2012 Honda CR-V LX in two-wheel drive and a 5-speed automatic will now cost $23,105 (22,295 + $810 for destination and delivery) and goes all the way up to $30,605 (incl destination) for a CR-V EX-L with Navi and all-wheel drive. See the entire list of available models, prices (add $810 to each for actual price) and EPA fuel economy.

No thank you. Power heated exterior mirrors are still a $5000 Honda option, yet they're standard on the lowliest Hyundai.

New Escape and Rav4 come out next year
Escape will have a few engines
Rav4 will surely take the Camry's 25/35 2.5 with it.
Even after conversion, it should beat 23/31
Bet good money both Escape and Rav4 will try to come in under $23k too.
Should be quite a battle!

Wow Hyundai is really offering heated side mirrors on every car.
Still would take the CR-V. Looks so much more comfy.

The article omits that the most economical base LX model will not be available until late January or February. Initial release is limited so expect early shoppers to overpay and note that they can only choose between EX and EX-l models. I was quoted an exorbinant $34K+ total cost on an EX-L, immediately suggesting that consumers wait until more competitive pricing is offered. This will occur later this spring as supply improves and even more so as the release dates of the newly redesigned 2013 RAV4, Escape, and Sante Fe nears. Better supply and more competition favors consumers. Those conditions do not exist right now.
