According to a report in Autoweek, Mercedes is planning to kill its underperforming Maybach brand in 2013.
This comes as no surprise to anyone who was following the situation as Maybach has been fighting slow sales for years now. With almost no talk of a revitalized product line it was just a matter of time before Mercedes decided to pull the plug.
In place of the ultra expensive sedans, Mercedes is said to be planning several variations of its top-of-the-line S600 sedan, including one that would use the Pullman name.

Not much of a surprise. If you tell people you have a Rolls or Bentley, they know what you're talking about. Tell them you have a Maybach, and they'll probably assume you're talking about a fancy watch or something. But I'm sure there are literally 10's of people who will be slightly upset by this news.

The oil sheiks will be angry. I mean, what are they going to drive when they get bored with their Bentleys?

And what will P. Diddy (or Puff Daddy, or Dirty Diddy Money, or whatever he calls himself this week) buy for his next child when he/she turns 16?

Rick Ross will also be absolutely devastated. I guess this is the end of Maybach Music...
