Here's your Mazdaspeed 2: Senior Editor Josh Jacquot tells you all about the Mazda Turbo2 Concept, the Mazda 2 with the Mazdaspeed 3 drivetrain stuffed into it.
Unquestionably, Mazda won't ever bring this car to series production, especially now that the MS3's turbocharged, direct-injected DISI 2.3-liter engine is on its way to obsolesence with the birth of the Skyactiv engine family -- but in the event of a blue moon, I'd be first in line to buy this MS2.

i would be more happy if they put the 2.0l 155 hp from the mazda3 combined with more weight saving measures. in this car 155 hp is PLENTY in a car like this (i remember how much fun i had back in the day in 90s eclipses that had a whopping 140hp in rs trim and they weighed 1 thousand pounds more then the mazda 2)
plus that new 2.0 gets amazing mpg in the 3 i cant imagine how much more it would get in the 2. put the skyactive engine in the 2, reduce weight, more sporty suspension and aero bodykit, call it a mazdaspeed 2, ???, profit.
