2011 L.A. Auto Show Video: 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

The redesigned 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG is one of two new V8-powered M-Class models that will reach U.S. dealers next year. Powered by a twin-turbo AMG 5.5-liter V8 rated at 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, the ML63 AMG was formally unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show and goes on sale in February.

In all seriousness, performance package should have been standard unless the price will undercut the X5M's without it. 550hp seems to be the norm in this category with the exception of the Cayenne Turbo but that is given a pass since it is significantly lighter than both the ML and the X5 and will run circles around both of them on the track and smoke them in straight-line acceleration (4.1 to 60).
