For whatever reason, be it internet pressure or simply realizing it was a lot of work for nothing, GM quit it with the pointless voiceover when they posted video the Chevy Camaro ZL1 lapping the Nurburgring in 7:41.27. But even when they had VO disrupting everything, they still did the right thing and gave us footage of a full lap of the 'ring.
We only wish McLaren would be so generous now that they've lapped the Nurburgring with the new McLaren MP4-12C. It's not like it would be long, with a lap time of 7:28, the video would only be about twice as long as the one they've provided here, but it would require half the editing.

Mike,
McLaren Automotive didn't lap the MP4-12C around the Ring. Sport Auto, a German car magazine did the test, with editor Horst von Saurma driving. Jalopnik confirms this: http://jalopnik.com/5852701/mclaren-mp4+12c-laps-nurburgring-in-728?popular=true
Therefore it's misleading to say that McLaren ran the car around the track and that this is an "official" McLaren video.

EDIT: My bad, it appears that McLaren Automotive did release the video, however they used von Saurma as the driver. My bad.

I can't tell if they're deceptive, or just didn't care enough

Only 7:28 in THAT car? Von Suarma has never done any of the cars he has driven on the 'ring any justice.
