It's About Time: Drive-in Hotel Lobby

 L1000201.JPG

Check out this drive-in lobby we discovered last week. The Interalpen Hotel is in the Austrian Tyrol, about two hours drive from Munich and close enough the epic Stelvio pass. You rock up, turn right into what looks like an underground car park and cruise straight in to the lobby.

In theory, an immaculately tailored valet will then deprive you of your designer luggage and park the car while you sip a glass of bubbly. Or, if you’re a motoring journalist, an immaculately tailored valet will deprive you of your cheap rucksack and look quizzical when you refuse to hand over the keys to someone else’s limited edition, matte black M3.

If you’re feeling flush, check out the Interlapen-Hotel Tyrol here

And for those who haven't seen it, here's Top Gear on the Stelvio Pass.

The drive-in lobby alone is deserving of an extra star. Make it the world's first six-star hotel.

Proof I don't belong in such digs...my first thought was, "Dang, that floor's going to be a mess in the winter."

As someone who works in a building that you can drive through, it's a lot of fun isn't it?

On a busy night, the exhaust fumes might knock out a few frail dudes with COPD/emphysema?

Not for me....I don't like to eat or drink with car exhaust fumes, laced with carbon particles flying around.

Daniel Craig could probably one-up Pierce Brosnan's ice hotel race.

Will they park my F550?
