Every year the Neiman Marcus department store puts a special edition car in its catalog. Last year it was the 2011 Chevy Camaro SS Convertible. It was painted Deep Bordeaux red, there were only 100 built and Neiman Marcus sold the entire run of $75,000 Camaros in three minutes.
With the global recession still in full swing and the Occupy Wall Street kids putting the spotlight on conspicuous consumption, Neiman Marcus has gone a different direction this Christmas...
Because Ferraris are simply too common (I only saw four on my way to work today), NM is offering a limited run of only 10 cars bespoke for this sale. The car and the grille is painted in Grigio Caldo and each one has a unique number plaque, 20" diamond-polished sport wheels, soft-touch semi-aniline leather (which is leather where you can still see the natural grain/texture) with matching six-piece luggage and all of the other stuff that you normally get with a Ferrari FF like a 651 horsepower V12 and 7-Speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Buyers of the special edition will also get a trip to the Ferrari Winter Driving Experience in Aspen which has a normal price of $11,300.
Deliveries of the FF for Neiman Marcus begin in March of 2012...if you plunk down $395,000 right now.
Also included in the Fantasy section of the 2011 Neiman Marcus sale includes a million-dollar fountain by the people at WET who did the Bellagio, a Johnnie Walker private scotch tasting for $5,000 and a $45,000 ping-pong table by Tom Burr.

$45k? I guess that you would really, really have to enjoy ping-pong.
*dog not included with purchase of car.

If it included a trip to The Ferrari Experience in Dubai, I might consider it.
