Turn 10 studios announced today that they will offer a "season pass" for its upcoming Forza Motorsport 4. This season pass will cost 2,400 Microsoft points ($24.99 $29.99) and will be available when the game launches on October 11. This season pass will cover the next six downloadable add-on packs that will be released over the coming months. The idea being that if you pay upfront for the add-ons, you will save about 30 percent over getting them as they are released for regular price. When all is said and done, the season pass will add about 60 cars (10 per add-on pack).
As an incentive to pick this up on day one, the season pass will give you immediate access to the "American Muscle Car Pack" which includes the following:
1965 Pontiac GTO
1968 Pontiac Firebird
1970 Buick GSX
1970 Dodge Cornet Super Bee
1966 Chevrolet Nova SS
1969 Shelby GT500 428CJ
1971 Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi
1967 Dodge Cornet W023
1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt
If you pre-order, you can get the "limited Collector's Edition," though all pre-orders get the "Launch Bonus" car pack which includes
1965 Ford Mustang GT Coupe
2011 Koenigsegg Agera
1997 Lexus SC300 (better be a Supra swap available)
2011 Ruf RGT-8 (Which isn't, technically, a Porsche)
2011 Tesla Roadster Sport (will battery-life be realistic?)
(The LCE also includes the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Ferrari 458 Challenge, Lambo Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, Noble M600 and RUF Rt 12 R)
A Forza 4 demo was also announced and will be available to download on October 3, for Xbox Live gold members and on October 7, for silver members.

Why not just put those cars in the game to begin with?

I preordered the LCE a couple days ago. I might have to look into this season pass.
@breif - for the same reasons BMW makes just about everything on their cars "optional" - get more money out of most people while letting the people who don't care as much feel like they saved money. Usually stuff like this would annoy me, but the selection of cars available is so enormous, I feel like they earned the extra money.

Where did you pre-order the LCE from?
It's been unavailable from Amazon for a bit now. It was listed for $160 before it became unavailable. GameStop has it for the correct price, but I want to pre-order from Amazon so I get the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI!

I preordered from Best Buy (I wanted the 1 Series M and I have a rewards card with them) for $80. They're throwing in a pair of fuzzy dice too!

"Why not just put those cars in the game to begin with?"
Um, to squeeze even more money out of people?
