2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Leaked Spy Photo

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Spy Sneak.jpg

This photograph just popped up on hyundai-blog.com and it certainly looks to be a genuine shot of the facelifted 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe (click for a smaller, but clearer photo).  There is definitely more Fluidic Sculpture going on with the fascia, bringing the Coupe more in line with more recent Hyundai products. Also note the vents on the hood and the more intricate light clusters. No view of the back, unfortunately.

Given this latest sneak spy shot, I'm pretty sure car manufacturers would have preferred it if camera phones had never have been invented.

They appear to have toned down that funky window kink.

Whoa, the site's comments are all messed up. Volvo comments are showing up on the Hyundai Genesis spy photo. Focus RS comments are on the Jap Car Show article. What gives? Where on earth is this comment going to end up?

Sorry, I feel the new front is UGLY. I prefer the old front end MUCH more. Big time fail by Hyundai on this.

I am pretty sure that this demo is equipped with 3.3 direct injection turbo engine because of the scopes on the hood.

And like the rest of the Hyundai lineup (Genesis Sedan excluded), the styling is overwrought with design. Too busy on the front end, like the Sonata. If Hyundai would tone back the design language, I think more buyers could be had. They've got the value end, now make it look good. Really good.

hmmm... looks like the Equus and the Elantra went on a date, that lasted pretty late into the night.

I'm really diggin it, hell whatever engine it gets, either the 3.8 333hp or the *wish* the 5.0!!! There has to be a 5.0 going under there, look how big the front end has gotten.

*scrambles for papers, and runs to hyundai to get deposit refunded on Genesis 3.8 Track*

You give us a one with a 6-Speed and Nav, and i'm there!

So hilarious, if you know Korean there is a word at the center saying "hey, Mong Gu(The CEO of Hyundai) you looking at this?"

It is like someone taken picture of iphone5 and saying "Hey Steve, you looking at this?" lol

That looks great. Far more confident in it's own look and less generic Tiburon. I'm hoping the interior is similarly updated.

This all means nothing though if they haven't juiced the drive train. We're ready when you're ready to get serious Hyundai.

New Hood and Rims = f**king SICK!!

New grill and bumper, not so much.

The Genesis Coupe if finally looking more Hyundai and Less Infiniti. I Hate that Hyundai/ Kia tend to copy other manufacturer designs and not create their own ideas. Genesis is a prime example of a BMW and Infiniti rip off (Sedan/ Coupe).

This looks like a true contender now, and I hope the interior materials finally are up to par.

Go Hyundai - this looks nice! Like a GTR with better styling.

Hyundai is something I really need to look at, but haven't gotten to the dealer yet.

@lions208...

Genesis never looked like any BMW or Infiniti. Infinitis are plain BLAND with those same stupid headlights. In fact, you cant even tell the difference between G35/37 from behind.

As far as BMW goes, the 3 series coupe hasnt got the fluidic sculpture or those curvy rear fenders. You need to get your eyes checked.

Grille and headlights are too big

Ports in the hood are overkill too. It only has a V6....

Finally Hyundai is coming into their own and have a distinct identity, as the rest of their entire line. This is absolutely stunning, especially in that gunmetal color. Keep it up Hyundai!

Wow. FT86 team got a hold of the front.

I hope you guys know that this is NOT a real spy shot. It's a photoshopped FAKE.

The author's blog.

He states himself that he photochopped it and asks for opinions on his work. :)

Look like someone is copying the FT-86 lights.

I don't know what happens when optimummind sees the first real cars on the dealer's lot...

It looks good except for that hexagonal grill. It looks like the Sonata hydrid's. It doesn't look good there either.

There is more to this photo than simply a camera phone spy shot...Noticed how all the pics post on the wall behind the car are blurred out intentionally most likely after the pic was taken...

akitadog says:

This may be the first time I've actually wanted the old fascia back.

I'm just not digging Hyundai's front clips AT ALL. Kia's design language blows this out of the water.

terrancep123 says:

The best use of Hyundai's new designs language to date.

camaro84 says:

They better get themselves a Fast and Furious film to promote it.

I find that the only thing I see that's ugly in all of Hyundai's current lineup is the logo they are sporting.

Hyundai needs to ditch that H logo. I know that the H logo has more meaning than what it seems to be (the H is actually two people shaking hands) but it doesn't scream change.

At least alter that thing.
