2011 Frankfurt Auto Show 'Product Specialists' Gallery

frankfurtalfamodel.jpg

Our IL editors are back from the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, and sure, I like looking at all their photos of beautiful cars but I also always get a kick out of seeing what the German "product specialists" beside the cars are wearing. Apparently Geneva has the fashion show of cars and New York has cars at a fashion show, but Frankfurt had some great fashions as well ... well, maybe not this ultraviolet one-shouldered ruffle dress. More after the jump.

You already saw this one in the Frankfurt auto show highlights video. I really like its 1940s draping cinched up with that black belt.

OK, I'm not feeling that droopy coral dress on the right. Reminds me of something I used to dress my Barbies in. The navy gown on the left is conservative with a flash of sexy. And I love how they paired a nude shoe with the dark dress.

Meh, simple LBD (little black dress) here. But I guess she accessorizes the car nicely. Hate her sandals with that dress though. It ain't a pool party, honey.

OK, this looks more like a uniform that the girls were required to wear. A plain white wrap dress with neon green cuffs (?) providing a pop of color. They probably should have gone with a material other than what appears to be jersey though. Looks kind of sloppy on the model, I mean, product specialist. Again, what is up with the shoes? Are those medallions on them?

Interesting neckline, high but counterbalanced with peekaboo slits. Wish they told the model or whoever dressed her that she'd be standing next to a red car, though, so she wouldn't be wearing purple heels.

Cute cocktail dress! Flouncy skirt with a textured bustier.

The reviews in this post are considerably harsher than in most of the car focused ones.

Caroline, obviously you know this, but... men are men, and as such we look at women and their clothing far differently from the way women look at other women.

First, we don't care about their shoes.
Second, we don't care about what the dress is made of, or even what the color of the dress might be.
Third, we only care about how sexy she looks.

Based on the above, MY* favorite "photo-ette" is the girl with the "jersey" dress (three photos up). You didn't have anything good to say about her dress, but here is my take: She has her right hip thrown out, with her right arm defining the curve of the hip, which was nice thinking on her part, or maybe the photographer's, because the hip line would have disappeared into the white paint. And, there is just enough light to give the dress a nice illusion of transparency, allowing us to create our own illusion of her legs going up... forever.

That's probably more than I needed to say-- and I didn't even get above the waist line. Remember, all these thoughts burn through a guy's brain in a split second.

*The rest of you can pick your own favorite. Isn't that nice of me?

I like the one next to the Lambo! Fits the car's image very well.....

I also did not notice the shoes on any of the models.
