Lamborghini says its "most extreme Gallardo ever," the LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stadale, will be limited to 150 units based on the racecar that competes in the company's Blancpain Super Trofeo racing series.
Indeed, the super Gallardo's heart -- a 5.2-liter V10 rated at 562 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque -- is shared with the racecar. Lamborghini's paddle-shifted six-speed e-gear transmission equipped with "Thrust Mode" launch control allows the all-wheel-drive Lambo to hit 60 mph in a claimed 3.4 seconds.
This is yet another tasteful redressing of a car that's been around for years. Changes are largely peripheral and include a matte-black adjustable rear wing and a removable matte black hood. Carbon fiber also makes up the rocker panels, rear diffuser and outside mirror housings. The forged 19-inch wheels are painted high-gloss black.
Eight-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers halt this unique machine. Steel rotors are standard but can be swapped for carbon-ceramic pieces should a buyer choose.
"Rosso Mars" Alcantara covers large portions of the interior including the dash, seat bottom and seatback. It's a striking look in combination with the abundance of carbon fiber we're used to seeing in a Lamborghini interior.
