2011 Frankfurt Auto Show: Kia Rio Three-Door Hatchback

Kia adds a third Rio to its five-door and sedan lineup, and this one has three doors.

Kia says the new three-door hatchback was designed to primarily attract younger buyers to the Korean brand for the first time, and it expects the new model to account for 20-25 percent of total Rio sales after it hits the market in early 2012.

With the same dimensions as the five-door model, Kia says the three-door will offer the same range of powertrains and equipment as the other hatch.

Great looking little hatch. I hope it comes to Canada.

Would guess that that one is showing the top-of-the-line SX trim/package. Looks quite attractive for a small, inexpensive car.

This is just one more product in the Hyundai/Kia group line-up that will help them catch and overtake Honda in the not-too-distant future.

Nice to see how many manufacturers are trying to rip off VW's "Detroit" model wheels without, you know, actually ripping them off...
