The Aston Martin V12 Zagato has had us rapt since the concept was first rendered back in May. Hearing the race car (via Youtube) at the Villa d'Este concours just jammed it deeper into our brains.
Seeing the production version at the Frankfurt Auto Show could be too much to bear. Sure, it'll be the same mechanically as the V12 Vantage, but who are we to scoff at a 510-horsepower 6.0-liter V12? The production version will differ from the race car with a slightly less insane hood (there are two fewer vents), a slightly more road-going front splitter, functional windows and, of course, a wing delete.
Aston will build "no more than" 150 examples of the V12 Zagato and at $540,000 -- some $359,465 more than a V12 Vantage -- they'll go fast.

The wheels bother me. With 5-spoke wheels like this, i don't know if I am supposed to be looking at the spokes or the space between the spokes. Space between the spokes looks like daisies. Yuck. Spokes look like old Atari logos. Hot car. Distracting wheels.

It's nice, but the wheels remind me of Kia Optima Hybrid...(They looked better on the Kia than the Zagato). I'm not diggin' the grill much, either. It's huge, and screams "I'm a 4000-pound fish and I'm going to eat your face" to me. Other than that and the price, (a $50,000 boost would be understandable since it is a Zagato, but $350,000?!?) it's a nice ride.
at least nicer than a Ferrari California!

I agree on the wheels. They're too thin...not enough beef on a ultra sportscar. They also kind of look like flower petals....wrong message.

Looks kind of bloated for an Aston. $540k for the homeliest Aston I have ever seen? I could have a V12 Vantage AND a DBS for that and both would look better and blow this thing away. Ah but they will be rare and collectible so what the hell do I know.

Forgive me, I forgot about the 80's Lagonda. Still....

Looks worse than the stock V12 Vantage. If you want a $540,000 'investment', get a collector's Ferrari F40 - a true supercar, not this. In 5 years, no one will care about this car.
