Rumor out of MotorAuthority has it on good work that the newly formed SRT brand -- headed by Ralph Gilles -- will be offering a factory supercharger for LX platform cars that will boost the horsepower to a max of 570. That's 100 more than the 6.4-liter V8 currently makes in the Challenger / Charger / Cherokee SRT8 / 300 SRT8.
The twin-screw supercharger is set to be released in late 2013 MY vehicles and is reportedly NOT supposed to be a direct response to the ZL1 Camaro and Mustang GT500. Right. Of course not. Why would anyone think that?

It's actually 100 more hp than the 6.4, not 170.

You're math is a little off MM.
570 - 475 = 95. not 170.

I would say it made more sense to put charger/300 at cts-v levels. That or they just felt like it and because racecar.

Delightful! And timely - I just finished reading a Car Craft article on Ford's twin screw kits for the 2005-2010 Mustang GT. Color me envious that my cars either don't have the aftermarket support to merit a twin screw kit or don't have the hood clearance for one.
This makes things all the more interesting when comparing E55/E63 to CTSV to SRT8 300/Charger to [insert new to 4 year old hyper sedan of your choice here].

That's funny - I saw 2 Challengers and a new Charger (lightly camo'd) being tested by Chrysler engineers on my way into work this morning. If I see them again tomorrow I'll have to open my window to listen for supercharger whine...

That's what I'm talking about. Now, how about M/T for charger?

I hope Mopar will sell these to be put onto the 2011 Challenger SRT-8s. I know my dad would be all over one for his.
