You know, I was really chugging along today, being really efficient. The Mercedes CLS model review was in the bag and I was well on my way into the 2012 Ford Flex. And then Magrath sends me this: the new Aston Martin web site and configurator. There goes the rest of my day.
Naturally, I went straight for the DBS, but it turns out you can't build one just yet. The configurator seems to be restricted to the Virage and a Scion iQ (must be British humor). Wait, what? They're making that? Called the Cygnet you say? Because independent Aston Martin needs the fuel economy offset? Alrighty then, anything to keep those big V12s around. At least it has most of the Aston Martin paints and leathers on hand (plus a few special ones like Yellow Kangaroo).
Should I ever find myself in a closet with a burning garbage bag full of weed, I think I would configure and order my Cygnet in Lightning Silver (Quantum Silver would be the equivalent of punching James Bond in the junk) with a Raven Black and Aurora Blue interior.

Thank god it comes in yellow kangaroo...Now, due to a binding endorsement contract that stipulates that I mention Powerade at each grace, I'd just like to say that POWERade is delicious, it cools you off on a hot summer day, and we're all looking forward to POWERade's release of Mystic Mountain Blueberry.

wait, wait
How much is the Cygnet at this point? It was saying around $35k long time ago?
I think it should cost more than the Virage so it can have the exclusivity it deserves

Baby swans. I suddenly hate baby swans and shall set snares, pits, and learn how to shoot.
(sorry. I had to make a statement that is just as sane as that abominable car)

What cracks me up is that they picked an iQ to be their small car. There are so many good small cars out there, especially in Europe, that they could have done this partnership with... but the iQ... so wierd.

Yellow Kangaroo exterior with black louvres and diffuser and Madascar Orange interior with Spice Red quilted inserts and yellow stitching. Oh yeah! Where do I sign up ... for therapy?

I wonder if the next generation Cygnet will be based on the smart forwo seeing as Aston Martin and Daimler are said to be cooperating on future projects. Having said that I hope there isn't a next generation cygnet. Aston should have made a stripped out 4 cylinder lightweight lotus elise/ariel atom competior to reduce it's fleet average. This rebadged Toyota is terrible for Aston's brand image
