Seriously, though. Don't do this. Yes, it's cool that you're racing an SUV worth less than one of this Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8's wheels, no, it's not cool to immediately pit the dude off the line. If someone can explain this, please do.

that is quite possibly the biggest single dick move ever....that man must be really really upset about something...probably about the fact that the only thing his beater truck can outrun is a smart fortwo...jackass

I'd be handing the guy the bill for the damage... and I'd make sure the track banned him.

Even granting that you're pretty much pegging the needle on the cock-o-meter at maximum just by owning a Grand Cherokee SRT-8, this was still uncalled for.
ptcdawg says:

I'm not sure what folks expect...good move by the S-10.....take out the trash. :)
Why would you put your car on a track if you had any worry whatsoever about it being damaged by others?
funkymunky says:

What an insufferable tool that guy is. If nothing, that's an appalling lack of sportsmanship in what appears to be just a harmless fun race. And no, I totally disagree with ptc. There is certainly an understanding that there can be accidental damage. But the Blazer straight RAN INTO HIM. Not accidental. That was his strategy. Loser.
ptcdawg says:

I still wouldn't consider putting a nice vehicle in a race with obvious beaters. Makes no sense to me....but it is what it is.
jederino says:

I completey disagree that there is a problem with bringing a nice car to a track day. Obviously, the S-10 driver's actions are beyond the pale. I hope he is held accountable for the damage.

What a d*ck comment.
Everyone knows, only the mustang has this ability.

Wow, I would have had to control myself from killing the guy in the S10 and going to jail.
bimmerjay says:
01:05 PM, 04/11/11
That's just unbelievable. What is wrong with people? You have to wonder what happened before the race to cause someone to do that.
If I were the SRT-8 driver I'd be looking forward to my day in court. And judging by the number of witnesses - and live video - it won't be hard to win that lawsuit.

Take him for all he's worth! So you get the uh... the 1988 Pontiac Bonneville up on blocks in his front yard, his double wide, his uh...
Man, recouping costs can be hard!

Huge d*ck move.
Happened on a racetrack guys, unfortunately I don't think he'd have much of a case to sue. Also, forget about calling Geico and filing a claim.

This is why you should keep a 45 with you at all times. Take care of idiots when something like this happens.

Behavior seen in the posted video is not uncommon Beech Ridge based on other videos on the net.
Sad to see this.

What a tool. I can explain, this redneck here thinks that since he's in a "NASCAR" race he can go be his idol Carl Edwards and go intentionally wreck someone. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_4I12wwBIE&feature=related
again. TOOL!

There must be *some* way the SRT8 owner can get some money.

bimmerjay says:
06:11 PM, 04/11/11
@eidolways,
Regardless of whether or not you'd actually be able to recoup the actual damages, you would be able to inflict maximum pain by getting whatever assets/cash you can and potentially garnishing the Blazer guy's wages. No it wouldn't necessarily be easy but it'd be so worth it to get whatever you could.
@agnh,
"Happened on a racetrack guys, unfortunately I don't think he'd have much of a case to sue. Also, forget about calling Geico and filing a claim."
He absolutely has grounds to sue the guy. Just because it "happened on a racetrack" doesn't mean you're immune to willfully causing damage to someone else's property. If you park your car on a racetrack can I go at it with a baseball bat and get away with it? Absolutely not. The laws apply no matter where you are, and the video clearly identifies that the damage did not occur by accident. I'm sure there's a lot more background to this story that probably bolsters that case.
Your comment on having no case to sue only applies to the SRT-8 guy's insurance carrier. Unless he had a track-day rider on his policy of course his insurance wouldn't cover him. If he does have that rider the carrier could absolutely drag the Blazer driver into court.

Every guy I've seen driving an SRT8 is indeed a Chad-bro...then again, I really want one myself. Maybe I'm a Chad-bro?
greenpony says:
06:30 AM, 04/12/11
What a complete douche. Bimmerjay is right, the laws apply equally on the track as they do everywhere else. Whether or not insurance will cover it is immaterial. It is clear that the S10 driver intentionally rammed the SRT8 (that is, he didn't lose control, as evidenced by his ability to successfully pilot his vehicle around the track), and it is clear that the SRT8 driver suffered damages. This is about as open-and-shut as you get, my friends.
malicious1 says:
06:42 AM, 04/12/11
Very old video. Word is the two hated each other long before that race started and the SRT8 owner went to his house and beat the guy down after wards.
Also, as previously stated...everyone wrecks their daily driver at that race. Check youtube (But none are Jeep SRT8's..mostly junk 90's FWD crap)
johnnyr3 says:

What an imbecile.
It's one of things where I wish everyone and everything just stopped. Drivers would get out of their cars, spectators would stand up in the stands and they'd all stare at the moron for 2,3 seconds before they bum-rushed him like they do in that "The Crazies" movie.

Not at all, I actually sold my SRT8 Grand Cherokee a few months ago, I just think that was a stupid comment.
