Come on, really. If someone gave you a Lexus LFA for 72 hours you'd find a way to do it, too. You know you would. We know you would. The only question is how long it would take to find the right place. And where, exactly, is that place?

It would be nice if you all provided these types of videos for OTHER fast cars. I think we can all acknowledge there are other cars with this type of performance without lessening our reverence for the LF-A. If this was a Veyron I could understand all the exclusive videos and 10 daily posts, but it's not. Do this same kind of thing (primarily videos) for ZR1, SLS AMG, R8 5.2, etc.

I don't care what 1487 says, I'm loving the coverage you guys are providing with this car! And I'm by no means a Lexus fan boy, this thing is just a plain-cool piece of engineering. Thanks for showcasing it!

How many automotive publications will be able to get their hands on this car for three whole days?
Bring it on Edmunds! Moar LFA!

Wow. 160 MPH. It's acceleration up through 80 didn't blow me away, but it's acceleration after that was just smooth and constant. That's impressive.

A couple of friends would always tell me that all cars that come to America are electronically limited to 155 mph. I guess they've never been in a proper exotic.

Agreed with Chrisco. I look out my office window and can see half the cars 1487 mentioned. Won't see many LFA's!

"How many automotive publications will be able to get their hands on this car for three whole days? "
I'm sure we'll find out very soon. C&d already had one in Europe to compare to a Ferrari.

Apparently Lexus and Toyota are pretty stingy when giving out LT cars, so IL getting an LFA for a few days is an almost unimaginable victory. They're just making the most out of an opportunity that will not come around again.

And C&D will most likely conclude that the LF-A is a good car but not worth $300k, just like everyone who have not driven/seen the car.
Personally, a car is beyond the price/performance consideration once you are out of the $100k mark. It doesn't matter whether a car is $100k (Corvette ZR-1) or $300k (Pagani Zonda). There is no scale to say whether something is "worth it". If a Zonda is "worth" $300k, why isn't the LF-A worth $300k?
As the old saying goes: if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.

Dear IL staff -
Please don't listen to the naysayers and keep the updates, videos and pictures coming. Most of us will likely never see an LFA in person and I fail to see how any true car enthusiast could tire of your coverage.
I'm still drooling.

...and if you bring the car up to Portland for an extended road trip, I'd love to give you guys my impressions also...please?

Was the driver holding the camera? My 84 year old mother could hold a camera more steadily than that.
Can't afford a camera mount guys?

Wow, some people are such haters! If I was GIVEN an LF-A for a while I'd be writing about /posting/driving it non-stop as well. I too am not a Lexus fan but this car is just an incredible feat of time and engineering. I'm loving it!
1487, put down the Haterade for a while and just enjoy something, for goodness sake!
BRING ON THE POSTS!!!

My guess is they would do this kind of thing if the respective manufacturers gave out loaners for multiple days and let them do whatever they wanted to. Haven't we had other similar trips like this before?
That said, IL should do a road trip with the SLS too. That would be sweet. Quick, get on the phone to Mercedes corporate!

I'm usually not a fan of silly gauges like that but I have to admit it's pretty cool to watch.
And I'm also enjoying the LFA coverage, keep it coming IL.
"Haven't we had other similar trips like this before?"
Yes, like the Texas BBQ run in the 911 Turbo, but I don't think a separate chase car for video and what-not came along that time.

I am also loving your coverage of the LFA. The sound that this car makes is something I haven't heard in seemingly decades. I will probably never see one in real life either, aside from an auto show. Keep em coming!

I happened to see a white LFA twice in Maryland (most probably same one). It was on interstate 270 and then I saw it again in a parking lot at a local sports store.

They did the same sort of thing with the Audi R8 and you complained about the number of posts then, too. We don't want to have too much fun now, do we?
What do you want IL to do with an LFA for 72 hours? Road test it, track test it, say "well that was nice" and then put it away for the rest of the time? Or drive it everywhere, make the most of it and even let complete strangers experience it. IL had 72 hours with this machine and lived a what many auto enthusiasts can only dream about, and kindly shared as much of it as they could with its readers.
If you don't like this sort of thing you are as much not an enthusiast as you are a hater.
Now excuse me I'm going to look for a post on the tactility of the defrost button on the Regal..that would be enjoyable AND informative.

"And C&D will most likely conclude that the LF-A is a good car but not worth $300k, just like everyone who have not driven/seen the car."
They ranked it ahead of the Ferrari in the test.

Videos and reader test drives were nice. Endless pics and mundane info about the car? not so nice. I really dont care what they do with it for 72 hours- I'm not driving it so after a while seeing pics/updates about the same car 10 times daily gets annoying. Since none of use will be buying this car or know anyone else who will, I could really care less how this car is as a daily driver. Performance data and some videos that allow us to hear the engine are all that really matter at this point.
"Now excuse me I'm going to look for a post on the tactility of the defrost button on the Regal..that would be enjoyable AND informative."
Ouch! Regal shot! That hurts man. My entire life is spent worrying about what you think and you have just crushed me. I suppose you're in the market for an LF-A so that makes you a better man than I, thanks for rubbing it in.

They get test cars all the time from other manufacturers. I'm confused as to why everyone is pretending Lexus has done something unusual here. I am saying that I would like to see some reader test drives on other high performance cars as well as videos of the cars on the mountain roads. I dont see why this stuff is limited to LF-A and R8, there are plenty of other fast cars out there that they have tested.

@1487
If IL is so annoying, biased, etc why do you keep coming to the site and posting here? You have "dellusions of persecution" as another reader put it whenever an article about a car you like is written and you whine about too many posts about a fantastic sports car than few of us will see, let alone own. So, why are you here?

What does any of this have to do with what I wrote?
