OK, so we're a few days late on this one, but the video is still good so take it easy. Besides, it's not like you're dying for rally results, right?
It was an ending which surprised everyone -- including rally winner Antoine L'Estage. Seriously, just watch the guy's reaction in the video interview. Even he was surprised to beat former American and British Champion (and new Subaru factory driver) David Higgins by a mere 17 seconds. Higgins' reaction, meanwhile, was sufficiently humble.
Still, there were other surprises on the weekend.
Like the fact that ex Subaru factory driver Travis Pastrana showed and promptly crashed out on the first stage. Ironically, on a left-hand corner. Dave Mirra, Higgins' teammate at Subaru, was third, nearly five minutes back.
RallyCar standings show Travis Hanson, winner of the first round in Michigan in January, as the overall series leader over Mirra and L'Estage. Both L'Estage and Higgins failed to finish first round.

I was there this past weekend and it was a blast. The 6 years I have worked the event I have only seen travis pastrana race once. This is a favorite course of his to crash out on.
Travis crashed out on the second stage. Also, you should note that travis hanson (his dad is his co-driver) won Sno*Drift in his super production subaru, the first time an SP car has won overall. One last note, this rally had been one 5 times in a row by ken block, this is his first year not running it.
Those who want some more pictures from this weekend check out my friend's flickr page. Tim William's is an excellent photographer as well
