"There are two vehicles that will get the Black Series treatment in the "very near future."
Ed wrote these words way back at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. Seems like forever ago that he was sitting down with Ola Kallenius, head of AMG, talking about upcoming models for the in-house Mercedes tuner. While they spent some time talking about the new A- and B-Class vehicles that may, eventually, get some AMG love, he was definitive that there will be two vehicles to get the black series "in the very near future." And this is the first of them.
Here we have the Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG Black Series. It's got fender flares that could double as aluminum siding, mismatched wheels and quad exhaust and...well...that's what we know. Whether or not this Black Series is a platform prototype and, like the CLK AMG Black Series that came before, will be on the new C-Class Coupe due out shortly, we don't know.
Nor do we have any information on the engine. Our money's on the new twin-turbo 571-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 hooked up to the seven-speed MCT Speedshift transmission. Though one more hurrah for the 6.2 isn't out of the question.

I think mercedes may be going in the wrong direction with the mismatched wheels and the autozone wheel lip trim. I wonder if those items are optional or standard equipment.

Fail.
First, have the current C-class AMG lose about 500lbs.
Second, make that snarling V-8 perform the way it should with lots of torque, more freely breathing cold air intake and straight pipe exhaust to blow it out the back.
Finally, do not charge one cent more than the current C-class AMG.
Do this Mercedes Benz, and maybe buyers will overlook the crap interior when cross-shopping the Audi S4 which despite being less powerful - still blows the C-class away with looks and overall build quaility.

IN europe this summer, I saw this car in white, black, matte black, and the wagon.
Every single one had those multi spoke wheels on.
Non of them had the (back ) wheels the ones in the U.S. get.
The wheels on the front are, really what a V8 AMG car should have.
The 03 SL55 had wheels just like that.
ANDD the ones standard for the U.S. those are and were for the S65 AMG or any V12 AMG car
They are the top of the line AMG Wheel

$100K C class - that'll be a first.
With 571hp it'll be amazing. If it ends up anywhere near the C63 AMG price, I may need one. Shame they'll only offer an automatic. Even my wife makes fun of sports cars without a DSG or manual.
