LS9 Powered, 1,243 Horsepower Lingenfelter Camaro Runs 8s. Sounds Evil.

There's bad, and then there's 8-second quarter mile bad...this is the latter.

Seriously, whenever you need to use a comma in your horsepower rating, you win. This beast features a 377 ci LS9 with an GM LS9 Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, JE pistons, CNC ported heads with OEM titanium intake valves and sodium filled hollow step exhaust valves, Lingenfelter GT9 supercharger camshaft, Comp cams, 2.38" supercharger pully, 102mm throttle body, long tube headers (duh, listen to it), two-stage dry nitrous system, twin fuel pumps, RPS triple carbon clutch, RPM built TR6060, 9.5" billet differential case with 4.10:1 ring and pinion, custom driveshaft, V6 Camaro front and rear brakes and a host of other performance goodies.

Put it all together, get the right driver (Jon Ebert) and the right track and it pulls off an 8.997 @ 158.8 mph with a 1.384 60' time. And this is with a 4,075 lb race weight.

Is this thing street legal???

Sure it is. Who could catch it to stop it? Seriously though; not in most states. ZR-1 motor with beefed up guts in the block and blower, and a bunch of giggle gas. Sounds fun. Once.

aren't there GT-R's that regularly do this? I don't get badass comments about those.

Sure, like there are Civics and Supras and Novas and Mustangs and Pacers that break 9s. This seems to be impressive because it appears to have a full interior (check out the power windows @ 0:15) Although in the end it is a purpose built drag car doing what it is built to do.

Boost logic out of Austin has a stock interior supra that does 246mph in the standing mile out of a 3.4 Liter inline 6. Here is a link to the mile run (cock pit vid): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xr58Fq9fwo&feature=related

Another boost logic Supra doing the 1/4 in 7.91: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US2Y8c327YA&feature=channel

@ supra4

Who cares? Your Supra is obsolete.

http://jalopnik.com/5524786/heffner-ford-gt-sets-26693-mph-standing-mile-record

The Heffner Ford GT runs 266.93 mph in a standing mile. That's just 1 mph shy of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports' TOP SPEED, which needs an entire track to get up to that speed.

Gotta love the Camaro. But is it a daily driver?

boy: Supras had been discussed earlier in the thread... The real discussion was about 1/4 mile times. I just threw in the standing mile vid because it was awesome. Do you know what the word obsolete means? The GT you refer to, beat the BL Supra by only 3mph at the same event. We will have to wait until next year.

@ supra4

No, Supras weren't discussed earlier. They were merely mentioned, along with a bunch of other cars. You just decided to toot your Supra vuvuzela and brag about how fast it can go, when there are other cars that are much, much faster and make more power.

Wow.... This is like race wars... When is Fast and the Furious 8 come out??

FYI everyone, people have different tastes... Everyone is sipping on the hatorade..

What does a 400rwhp, 600rwhp and 800rwhp Supra have in common?

12 second 1/4 miles. Oh snap! Old...but funny. Seriously though, they're not natural drag racers, at all.
