Screen Used Hero K.I.T.T. Up For Auction

42027.jpg

Have you worn out your DVR watching and re-watching the 18 episodes of NBC's hit 2008 show Knight Rider?

Do you long for GT500 KR looks, but with the fuel efficiency of a 4.0-liter V6?

Do you have $25 - $35,000 to blow?

Good news, everyone! On November 2nd, 2010, Profiles In History will have a screen-used 2008 Ford Mustang for auction that was used in the filming of this terrible, terrible show! This could be your last opportunity to own a piece of Night Rider history...at least until Bruce Davidson gets desperate.

"(NBC-TV, 2008-09) This is one of two hero K.I.T.T. driving cars built for the 2008 TV series driven by Justin Bruening as "Michael Knight," which takes place 25 years after the original Knight Rider series. The car is a jet black 2008 Ford Mustang equipped with a 4.0L V-6 SOHC engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The car has been extensively modified with Ford Shelby GT 500KR components, including front Brembo performance brakes, 20-in. forged SVT wheels, GT 500KR seats (with red inserts and embroidered Carroll Shelby headrests), KR front bumper assembly, hood with vents, front and rear spoilers and KR rear bumper cover, HID headlamps, black KR stripe kit, carbon fiber side mirror covers and the appropriate "snake" badging. Other modifications including K.I.T.T.'s signature red "sweeping" scanner mounted at the front of the hood (in perfect working order), Momo steering wheel and tinted windows. This incredibly impressive car was purpose-built by Cinema Vehicle Services for the production and comes with a certificate of authenticity from the company."

"Do you long for GT500 KR looks, but with the fuel efficiency of a 4.6-liter V6?"

I know Ford made a 4.6-liter V8, but who makes a 4.6-liter V6?

Snooze.

25 to 30 to "blow' is an appropriate comment. Although that may seem a reasonable price for a hero TV car, I just can't see this car ever increasing in value about this price. After all, this show tanked.

that and the 4.0L v6 got about the same gas mileage as the 4.6L V8

That is not K.I.T.T., K.I.T.T. was a Trans Am.
