Paris 2010: Audi E-tron Spyder

#ParisMotorShow A roofless version of the Audi E-tron coupe, the Audi E-tron Spyder was revealed today at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. But whereas the E-tron was purely electric, the E-tron Spyder is a plug-in hybrid by way of a twin-turbodiesel 6 and twin electric motors.

Don't get too excited, though. The E-tron Spyder is purely a design exercise. Take the wheels: 20-inch carbon-fiber and aluminum jobs made of 66 individual pieces.

Neat, yes, absolutely. Still, we'd be happier seeing a production R4 that would sit between the TT and the R8.

Coupe or convertible, this is one of the most beautiful modern non-exotics ever penned.

Audi, if you get this out around $50K, under 2800 lbs, I will get one. Coupe or convertible. Please take a lead from Lotus chassis design and make it dance like an Evora...
