It's only a matter of months now before the 2011 Chrysler 300 arrives. And when it does, the big sedan will be sporting a slightly updated exterior and a heavily redesigned interior.
This shot of a 2011 Chrysler 300 prototype reveals just a few of the upgrades in store for the flagship sedan. Do you like chrome trim? Well then, this 300 should suit you just fine. Looks like that steering wheel has plenty of shiny wood on it too. Even the center looks like it's built of high quality materials.
Will it be enough to bring back some of the 300's appeal? We'll see soon enough as this car should be in dealers by the end of the year.

"this car should be in dealers by the end of the year."
That might be a tall order seeing as how any significant production won't even commence until the 2nd or 3rd week in January.

I never thought the 300 had a particularly dire interior. But the best thing they can do for it is slap the new Pentastar V6 in it ASAP. When will that happen?

@dg0472, the pentastar is in the 2011

Definitely looks to be an improvement over the current truckish interior. If they sell the Hemi with the rumored 8-speed Chrysler may actually breathe some life into the old girl. If you like RWD (i do) there are not many affordable 4 door options.

Heck, I think the 300 (are they going to call it the Trecento now that they're Fiat-owned?) is STILL a pretty darn appealing car that doesn't NEED a restyle. But as we found out by electing Obama, change is good. Right?

You're on the right track but the best thing that can happen is to improve quality/reliability across the entire product line (long term) and replace that 5 speed with the 8 speed (short term). That can't happen fast enough.

Old interior wasn't bad. Just not "premium enough". Too much black plastic.
The exterior of the 2005-2010 300 still isn't looking bad though. Yes, a refresh is due, but I think that the 300's styling is holding up well.

It will be available when the new model launches.

Good to know know it's getting the new V6. And yes half_ton, those must be priorities, too.

I love how chrome accents are so evil in American (save me the debate...the 300 is American) cars, yet it's been described as "tasteful" on certain Japanese cars. Please leave the bias at home, and stop commenting on matters of personal taste.
Because some people rather like the look of chrome on otherwise bland looking cars, American, European, Japanese, or whatever.

I don't think the 300 ever lost its appeal. I still stare at them if they drive by on the road.

I wish people would stop assuming that just because someone doesn't agree them it's a bias.
And remember everything written in a blog by editors (or readers) is personal taste. Editors just have a lot more experience to back up their opinions.
