Hands free phone? USB input? Bluetooth audio? Color matched removable hardtop? The 2011 Jeep Wrangler has 'em all.
The latest step in Chrysler's forward march is the reveal of the already spied and already in production in Toledo, 2011 Jeep Wrangler. There's a redesigned steering wheel with controls for the stereo, cruise control, media center and iPod. There are new, soft-touch armrests and upgraded materials throughout. Jeep has also spent time-- finally?-- working on the in-cabin noise levels: New acoustic dampening for the Wrangler and Unlimited models and a solid, removable hard top, should make this Jeep downright tolerable on the highway.
Jeep has also made available five new colors for 2011: Detonator Yellow, Deep Cherry Red, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Bright White.
You know where the rest of the photos are....

Much better looking interior. Material quality?

Give me a 3 liter turbodiesel and a manual that stays in gear, and I will make a case for buying one.

I seriously hope they upgraded the seats. I drove one for a day and went into back spasms and I'm an in-shape 6'1" 32 year old.

I like the upgrades. Hope they gave the 2-door model a split-folding rear seat like what's found on the 4-door.

Leather in a Wrangler just seems wrong... absolutely wrong.
I agree that if there is a car that needs a diesel more than anything its a wrangler. A small V-6 or I6 diesel would be perfect and make it a little more practical too (better gas mileage).

Not liking the 1-2-D. Do we have more word on engines? Pentastar output in this application?
I still love the complaining about the noise levels. It's a Wrangler. Next we'll be complaining that it's not a power fold top.
I am glad they offer the color match top though. Makes it a little cleaner.
I had a '97 TJ, and this interior is light years ahead of that one. I know it's been a while, but it looks pretty damn good.

Pentastar will be in 2012 models, most likely with a 6 speed automatic.

Then I'll have to wait until 2012 until replace my Wrangler..

Since the Wrangler has gotten too big, heavy and car-like I would like to see Jeep offer a small off roader to slot in under it.
Something the size of the old CJ5, something where people don't call a 200+ hp V6 "anemic", something when the interior is simple and serviceable and not aimed at people who's biggest concern is soft plastic, something which has a suspension that is designed to go off road and not cruise the interstate or lap a track.
Something with no electronic nannies and something that is NOT the Compass or Patriot.
Doubtful the committees that rule today would allow it but maybe Jeep could strike a deal with some old enginneers from Suzuki and make a modern version of the Samurai.

Firstwagon, are maybe exaggerating just a touch?
The Wrangler doesn't have a suspension to go of-road? It's designed to lap a track? Seriously?
Giving it a better on road ride while still tackling anything in it's path is a pretty good advancement in my book.
I think it's, I don't know, maybe just a little different than the Compass and Patriot...
And there's a reason they don't make the Samurai anymore. Anybody that wants the vehicles you mentioned do just that, buy old versions and fix 'em up. Their narrow tracks may have been good for of roading, but not the most stable highway ride, or cornering. I know that's not what they were made for, but I think today's car buying public would like to feel safe taking a corner above 10mph.
200+ hp in avehicle like this is anemic. My '91 Cherokee had 190hp. The Pentastar will give this Jeep a much needed boost. Maybe help me take on 'The Ring'.
