Receiving a 'good' rating on front, side and roof-crush crash tests, the 2011 Buick Regal is the latest vehicle, and the seventh from General Motors, to be labeled a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).
The 2011 Regal joins the Buick LaCrosse, 2011 BMW 5 Series, Ford Taurus, 2011 Cadillac CTS, Hyundai Genesis, 2011 Infiniti M class, 2010/11 Mercedes-Benz E class, Toyota Avalon and the Volvo S80 as IIHS Top Safety Picks in the large car segment.

If anyone knows anything about Euro NCAP, it's no wonder this car passes IIHS with flying colors. Ever watch a youtube video of a car undergoing NCAP testing? They run a simulation of the center of the car sliding into a tree/pole as part of their testing.
