Here's a high-tech solution to making fruitless laps around parking garages and getting into fights with fellow parkers. It's called the Woehr Multiparker 730, and it's one of several such "multiparkers" Woerhr has constructed throughout Europe.
But for the added convenience, you'll have to give up some control over exactly where your car gets parked. And it would likely be left to the discretion of each parking company to determine the protocol for the rare but inevitable day when the payment machine malfunctions and refuses to return your car.

Cool as hell, but probably expensive as hell too.
Why does she have to answer 'several' questions to 'ensure it is safe'? What are these questions and what happens if she answers them wrong?

Lets not forget about the rare but inevitable day when the system itself malfunctions and damages your car. Thanks but no thanks. I rather park my car myself.

Japan has had auto-parking garages for some time. At least 10 years? Probably also due to a lack of space. A cool thing about theirs--you drive directly off the street into the holding bay and when you leave your car to go right on the sidewalk.

@ tp660 - I trust machines and computers far more than valet parking. That's DC's answer to nearly full parking garages. They force you to use a valet once the lot is near capacity so they can cram cars in 2-3 deep and in the "aisles." So there's no telling how many times the car was started and moved and left to idle and whatnot while they retrieve other cars.
