Slated for a July 2011 release, Transformers 3 filming is underway in Chicago. Numerous videos have been posted to YouTube, and this one provides a halfway decent look at the Decepticons in T3 and they'll be NASCAR Chevy Impalas fitted with a massive gun array. Figures. There's a Ferrari 458 Italia in the movie, too, and of course, it's an autobot. The Kicking Tires blog has a small gallery of photos if you want to see more.

the behind the scenes stuff sure make movies look boring. In a past life I worked a couple for a few days and the extras were great people to hang around with otherwise it would have put me to sleep, them doing everything over and over again.

okay, GEEK WARNING HERE:
- one i wonder who the ferrari will be? i would've said sideswipe (since he was a red countach) before he was the silver 'vette. cliffjumper? the throttlebot, chase? hmmm...
- as for the decepticon NASCAR cars... the stunticons??? that would be cool to see the combiner, menasor since devestator kinda fell by the wayside... i heard rumors that there's a decepticon cab-over truck in black seen running around. that means motormaster if that's the case...
