After years of promising a spiritual successor to the Esprit, Lotus has finally acknowledged that one is on the way. It should arrive, in concept form at least, at this fall's Paris auto show.
It's expected to use a larger version of the aluminum chassis that underpins the Elise, Evora and Exige sportscars. Although the original Esprit used a fiberglass body, the new Lotus supercar will most likely upgrade to something a little more exotic.
Lotus officials have hinted that the company is looking to move up a few notches on the price scale with its future models, so the Esprit successor could arrive with a Ferrari-like price tag.

Bet it won't look near as cool as the Esprit. As least not to us old guys.

The Esprit is simply timeless.

Thanks, IL, now I won't be able to relax until I find "The Spy Who Loved Me" chase scene on YouTube.

I wonder if this will look like a Pokemon like the Exige, Elise and Evora.
