Rumors are swirling that Porsche will show a Cayman Club Sport (CS) at the 2010 LA Auto Show. Hot on the heels of the lightweight Porsche Boxster spyder, the Club Sport version will have more power, the Boxster Spyder gets 320 to match the current Cayman and we expect this to come with over 330 horsepower.
If this is indeed following in the tracks of the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder we can expect air conditioning to be an option, the same (let's hope) Alcantara and carbon-fiber seats, cloth door pulls and racier body modifications.
And, again, based on Boxster Spyder numbers, we'd expect the hot-rod Cayman to come in right around $65,000.

I never liked the Cayman for one simple reason: It isn't all the car it could be ON PURPOSE. Porsche didn't want it to be competition for the 911, so it intentionally put an open diff on the car to slow it down (before 09).
If it was engineered to be the best small coupe out there, it would be a dream car. I'm sure the CS will be the car it was intended to be before the marketeers got their filthy hands into the batter.

The thing I think Porsche needs to realize, is that enough people realize the potential behind a Cayman, and those people would *probably* pay for the full potential. I believe a $80k hardcore Cayman wouldn't cannibalize 911 sales. But it may cannibalize GT3 sales...
