Xenatec Coupe Is the Maybach Coupe You Always Wanted

maybach-coupe-f34-1-1600.jpg
Ah yes, the mysterious Maybach coupe. We first got a taste of this idea with the Exelero concept, a somewhat cartoonish-looking thing that bore little resemblance to the current Maybach. Now, a company named Xenatec has taken a slightly more realistic direction with what it's calling the Xenatec Coupe.

This gigantic grand tourer is essentially a rebodied Maybach 57S. Same wheelbase, same drivetrain, same everything under the skin. Xenatec says every one of these coupes will be built to customer specification, so other than the hard parts you can pretty much order whatever you want in terms of trim, colors and options.

They'll be serviceable at any dealer that can work on a Maybach and they'll even come with a full warranty just like a standard Maybach.

Xenatec says only 100 of these coupes will be built, which, given the number of Maybach's going out the door these days seems a bit optimistic.

Long and hood and swoopy roofline - good stuff. And, this look will get less common with the push for smaller displacements.

This is stupid. Why have a great big long coupe like this. This must be for that small niche of people with way more money than brains. I do like the two-toned paint job.

As are most "niche", "custom" and ultra-expensive items. But hey-they wouldn't make 'em if someone didn't buy 'em. ;-)

Wow...this is a beautiful coupe. Very classic lines. Makes me wish that there were more custom coachbuilders out there.
