The Real Deal: Callaway Corvettes Finish 1st, 3rd in FIA GT3 Races

callaway_gt3corvetteblog.jpg

So you think Callaway is just another tuner trying to get you to sink more money into Corvettes and Camaros? Ah, well, the company sure did back up its credentials over the weekend. Two Callaway-built Corvette Z06R GT3 cars finished 1st and 3rd in a pair of FIA GT3 races in Brno, Czech Republic. The first of the races was run under drenching rains to boot.

You can see all the GT3-class Porsches, Audis, Astons and Ferraris these Corvettes were up against in a short video of the cars leaving the pits after the jump. Or you can watch the whole Sunday race on the FIA GT3 Web site with English commentary.

See the FIA GT3 Saturday and Sunday race results.

Actually this race was on live, on the Bloomberg channel. I was channel surfing Sunday morning and saw the race. A Ferrai was leading but had 2 stop and go penalties that caused them to finish last

I saw no Hennessey- or Saleen- or SLP- or Tjin- or even Lingenfelter-built cars in that race. I wonder why.
