Yes, it is official. The Ferrari 599 GTO now exists in more than just spy shots. Ferrari announced the new model today with the not-so-subtle headline, "the fastest road-going Ferrari."
We don't doubt them on that one either as this new 599 GTO has a 670-horsepower V12 and weighs in at just 3,296 pounds. It features various upgrades to the brakes, suspension and electronic controls, all of which are designed to squeak out that little extra performance from what is already a ridiculously fast street car.
In fact, Ferrari says the 599 GTO is really just a street version of the 599XX track car introduced last year. Ferrari only plans to build 599 of these modern day GTOs, so this car is already guaranteed some measure of collectability before it even goes on sale.

It looks like a C6 Corvette Z06 with a new rear window. It has a lot of hp but I bet it will have like 300 torque, so its performance wont be much better than a C6 Z06. It also looks like it stole the wheels off of a C5 Z06.
