2011 Audi A8L W12 Makes First Appearance in Beijing

Still not sure what to think of this new Audi A8. The styling has been growing on us little by little, but the current model still looks fresh. This was the first public appearance of the long wheelbase model and the extra few inches does help even out the proportions just a bit.

This particular version was the top-of-the-line W12 model that gets a few extra styling tweaks like a revised grille with more chrome and unique set of wheels. Both the standard size and the long-wheelbase A8 go on sale this fall while the W12 engine option won't arrive until 2011.

Generally speaking I think Audi's design language has produced some of the best looking cars currently on the road. However, the third and forth pictures are the first I've seen of this car that have an unflattering profile.

This car does look almost exactly like an A4 but I don't consider that a negative. There's something about the rear of this car though that just didn't "look right" . . . sorry I can't be more descrpitive.

Hmmm... the car seems to be channeling the new BMW 7 series character line (side view); 3rd generation Acura TL (angle of rear deck / side and light as seen from the side) and the good ol american Chevy Malibu (rear quarter view) ...

The front is all Audi ... the back and side is all confusion.

The interior looks fit for a King however so I still might be in LOL ... of course, that's just my opinion ... I could be wrong!
