Spy Photos: 2011 BMW 6 Series Convertible

BMW is certainly taking its time with the next-generation 6 Series. We first saw prototypes testing on the Nurburgring around this time last year, and now our latest spy shots show similar looking prototypes testing in the Arctic Circle.

Oddly, these prototypes don't look all that different from the current 6 Series. Odd, because we remember sitting down with some BMW executives not too long ago who said that this 6 Series would be a dramatic departure in terms of styling. Maybe so, but the overall shape of these prototypes looks pretty familiar. Maybe that will change when the covers come off later this year.

It does look less dramatic.

sad thing is it looks more sedan-based than the current one, with the huge cowl and large overhang/small wheel+tires
