Nick Cage Forced to Give Up Leased Rolls-Royces

nickcage-717.jpg
The fact that Nick Cage is in serious financial trouble is not new. He's been selling stuff left and right for months now. What caught our eye this time around is the fact that two of his cars, including a 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III, were leased.

Turns out a company called Premier Financial Services will lease you just about any car you can find. Vintage cars, classics, brand new exotics, whatever. Who knew?

In Cage's case, he was shelling out $7,663 a month for his classic Rolls and another $3,600 for an '02 Corniche. When the money ran out he tried to just turn them back in, but PFS wasn't having it. Now they're suing him for the cost of taking the cars back early and having to sell them cheap. Poor Nick, guy can't catch a break these days. Can't make a decent movie either.

Looks like even celebrities need the Dave Ramsey plan! This is sad.

For the $91,956.00 he spends leasing it for just one year he could buy a 7-Series. Well nobody said celebrities were good with money.

I guess it's not just boxers who can blow through huge sums of cash.

Especially this celebrity.

Jeez... this is seriously bad money management. If he'd just taken the last twelve month's worth of payments on the Silver Cloud (yucko) and bough Ford stock a year ago, he'd be able to buy anything he wants without having to lease. Or Apple stock, or just about any stock. I suppose that giving the illusion of being wealthy is actually more important to celebrities than actually being wealthy.

Quick, easy money lends itself to undisciplined consumption, whether it's athletes, actors, or lottery winners. It's classic. Nick should get a clue and wrench on a '94 Miata and learn what love is. ;)

"I'll take all the cash in the drawer and these here Pampers."

Can't make a good movie? C'mon, Ed. Raising Arizona? Hello?

A $7,600 lease on a 1962 status symbol, which wasn't that much fun to drive when it was new, what's Nick smoking, there's lots of nice rides out there for a lot less than $7,600 a month, no Rolls is worth it.

The sad thing is that despite having all that extra $$$ those are the ones that end up flat broke with no savings well before their golden years. No doubt you'll be seeing Cage along with all those has-beens doing reality TV shows. :-/

And that was how long ago? List a decent Nicolas Cage movie within the last 5 years.....

Oh, to have financial woes of such a grand magnatude! Blowing millions doesn't take skill. Just an utter lack of control! What a douche.
