We're not kidding either. This G55 was at the AMG factory getting retrofitted for a Russian customer who wanted a little more, uh, protection. Along with the fully armored outer shell and windows, this G-Class was fitted with captain's chairs in back.
Also note the dual doors at the rear, it's a tell-tale sign of an armored G. Normal G-Class SUVs have a single swinging door, but the extra weight of armor makes it too heavy for the hinges so two smaller doors are used.

I am gonna own a G-Wagon one day. Love these trucks. I could do without the triplepane laminated glass though.

the dual doors is a better solution than the regular outer door with the armored inner door. the inner doors always have small windows and it can be a pain to have to open two doors to put items in the back.

IL should field-test it one day.

I agree! Do it at aa army or marine corp base for demolitions testing! Let's see how it holds up to M16s, Barrett .50 cals and frag grenades!

The rear hinges on the back look like a weakspot. Would a grenade or such device there blow open the rear doors?

I'll tell my russian friends that if they see a double door in the back of a car; it means it's bullet proof therefore use RPG instead.
